Everybody Needs a Break — Even the Ones Who Herd the Chaos

We all have a tendency to put others first — our patients, our clients, our staff — but sometimes, we work ourselves to the breaking point. That’s where I come in.

As a seasoned relief veterinarian (and proud corgi wrangler), I provide compassionate, reliable coverage so you can take the time you need — whether it’s for vacation, maternity leave, loss of a full time veterinarian, sick days, or just a breather during a packed schedule. Let me (and the corgis!) help keep your hospital running smoothly while you recharge.

Support you can trust, compassion you can count on.

About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Katherine Perkins — a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degrees in Animal Science and Poultry Science in 2010. I continued my education at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2015 with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. From there, I dove headfirst into practice and haven’t looked back.

I’m an outgoing, energetic veterinarian with a passion for preventative care, client education, and emergency medicine. I thrive in high-volume, fast-paced environments and love stepping into support both pets and the veterinary professionals who care for them.

Outside of work, I’m a proud dog mom to four wonderful pups — two corgis, Stapleton and Dolly, and two miniature Aussies, Ruby and Reba. When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me hiking, kayaking, and prioritizing my faith, fitness, and health. I’m grateful every day to be a part of this incredible profession and strive to bring compassion, consistency, and excellence to every shift.

While I previously practiced dairy medicine, I now focus exclusively on small animal medicine. I am confident in a wide range of general practice and emergency skills and have experience working in:

- Appointment-based clinics

- Walk-in/urgent care only practices

- Emergency + Specialty hospitals

- 24/7 Emergency care facilities

I’m licensed in Texas and available to travel across the state.

I commit to arriving on time, working hard and efficiently, and maintaining a friendly, upbeat, professional attitude.
